Treachery!

Last night's Reconciliation Ball was marred in the worst possible way.

All was going well. The Kaiserin of Neualtenburg and her Honour Guard, Rittmeister Edelweiss were guests at Coughton Court to celebrate the end of the hostilities between Caledon and Neualtenburg that had been simmering for some time.

But in a despicable turn of events, the jumped up little jackanape Hotspur O'Toole and his crazed Secret Police crashed the party - right in the middle of my dance with the Kaiserin thank you very much!

Reading out a list of trumped up charges including tax evasion (!) they attempted to arrest the Kaiserin in the name of "The Great and Glorious Leader Shang."

And while trying to protect the Kaiserin, that little blonde tart Pennyfeather got me in the back with something. I'm certain the blade was coated as I went down far too quickly.

Poisoned!

Recuperation

Thanks to the generosity of Her Grace of Loch Avie I am recuperating in her Distillery. And I have constant attendants. Miss McAllister, Miss Rothschild and Miss Figaro have all assisted in providing medical comfort.

And thanks to this cavorite powered wireless drone, I am able to still interact with people during my convalescence.

I do sadly fear that the much feared war my truly be on us all too soon.

Our thoughts are with you old man. There a pint on the bar in The Anvil with your name on it. Come drink it with us as soon as you can :-)

My dearest Edward, I will attend to your ever need as you recover...and rest assured I will be seeking the blackguards who did this myself!

Edward,

Good to see the treatments are helping. Stay safe and well. I'll be around to check up on you sometime this evening. Glad to see you safe as well.

My Sweet Sir Edward...I have no words to thank you for your brave service to me and my dear Cousin Kendra. I am beyond relieved to know that you are recuperating with proper care. Perhaps Cousin Eva and I could swing by with some sandwiches? A nice sandwich would do wonders for your constitution!

Perhaps, Your Grace, I may decline the sandwiches? After all look what happened to the last poor sould who received one.

Perhaps they could wait until I am more readily able to enjoy its flavour?

Mr. Pearse, you have my complete sympathy and support. If I ever return to the realms of the living, I shall join in the hunt of these wicked warmongers! Feel free to stop by my cafe or ballroom provision for refreshments on the house for such a brave hero as yourself!

Perhaps I should spend more time in Caledon. Taking in...the sights.

The distillery is at your disposal for as long as you need it dear Edward. Thank you for your efforts on behalf of our cousin and us...and all of Caledon.

Please let me know if we need to contact Mitsu or Dr Mason for anything that the uisge beatha and my Highlands herbal remedies will not cure.

Also - we will have sandwiches when all this business is finished and you are well healed.
*grins*

Be well my friend.

I have a feeling sandwiches would not condusive nor beneficial to Sir Edward's digestion.
