Is this still on?

*Blows dust off the surface*

*dissolves into a coughing fit belatedly realising just how bad that idea was*

Hullo!

Yes I'm still here!

Well, mostly.

I'm still in Babbage. The unofficial right-hand man I think. I should petition Tenk to be official Mace Holder. Pearse'd & Cut closed down inworld. And since I never had a Marketplace set up that ended that. However I have been nagged cajoled encouraged to set it up on Marketplace and am currently in the last stages of setting a new logo and packaging and will hopefully be offering some wares Very Soon™

In place of the former Pearse'd & Cut store, the Sphinx Club has been constructed. The home of Breakfast in Babbage (which is STILL going) and my dance club in Babbage Palisade. I've also finally set up a SL group so you can get announcements of upcoming gigs. There's even a discord server!

I've been doing a bit more work with SL photography and am rather enjoying that.

My latest creation:

Night Patrol

I am going to try and update this a little more often. Or at least post something a little more interesting than just monthly even notices.

Of course, good intentions and all that. Remember: April is Procrastination Awareness Month!

Bedlam in Babbage: Tolkien Celebration

November will be my 111th Breakfast in Babbage broadcast!

In honour of turning “eleventyone” I have decided to make this month’s theme a Tolkien inspired one.

Music from the various film and radio adaptations, as well as music inspired by Tolkien’s works, from Led Zeppelins and Blind Guardian to John Sangster and the Tolkien Ensemble, there will be music for all. Some of it you may never have heard before.

Join us Saturday afternoon for 2 hours of Tolkien inspired tunes at The Clarendon, New Babbage.

Breakfast in Babbage: 80s Movie Music

I love soundtracks. However the 80s had a huge number of songs that became hits in their own right. Huey Lewis wrote Power of Love for Back to the Future but it charted well on it's own. Kenny Loggins wrote both Footloose and Danger Zone. Irene Cara also had two major hits. And Ray Parker made the phrase Who ya Gonna Call unusable even to this day.

Join Edward Pearse as we trip down memory lane looking at movie music of the 80s.

Breakfast in Babbage: Nerds!

The Geek Shall Inherit the Earth! From a much mocked social group to the rise of geek culture, nerds have come a long way. And most of us in Babbage would probably fit the definition. Whether you're obsessed by comics books, the latest incarnation of Star Trek/Wars, or working your way through a multi-tomed epic fantasy, or whether you think doing maths for fun is a thing you're a nerd.

Thankfully being a geek or a nerd has become a lot more acceptable with the incorporation of computers into every aspect of our lives and geek media has become Big Business.

Join Edward Pearse for a look at the Music of Nerds. 2 hours of songs by, and about, the fans and their obsessions.

The Clarendon, April 14th, 8:00am SLT
