This evening witnesses a most unusual spectacle in Babbage, the rising of the old Town Hall from the waters east of Palisades.
Yes folks, Babbage has a new sim - Quarry Hill.
Sandbox week is in effect, so there will be a variety of weird shapes appearing out my back door over the next few days.

Full Steam ahead in New Babbage
At the start of this year New Babbage's founder and Mayor Shaunathan Sprocket announced he was selling up and moving on. Once the elections were finally out of the way and Mr. Tenk took over the reigns as new Mayor, much shuffling and shifting has been done.
The public transport system is up and running.

Christine and I take a ride on one of New Babbage's trams.
The Babbage Canals have been relined and many of the infrastructure prims have been replaced. Plans are also under way for a new Town Hall.
But most impressively a new sim is in the works.

Three sims by the look. Though I only one is open for booking at this stage.

In a surprise move the new sim will be called New Babbage (since there isn't actually a sim of that name as yet). The row of red dots will be the site of a new Radio Riel office and broadcast tower. What fiendish monster will be climbing it to their doom?
To the north of the new sim is a proposed layout for Brunel Heights, an idea that had been floated about as something for large mansions and a little more green.

Taking up the space where the old Babbage Academy once stood looks to be the "Old Quarter". Obviously general ideas have been discussed but I'm wondering if it will be the remains of an old fortress or something. Build theme would be interesting. The idea of retrofitting the steampunk history into a backstory reminiscent of the English Civil Wars could be intriguing. Cromwell's Ironsides just became even more of a worry.

Caledon's newest
With the demise of the Mondserrat Colony (and I'd put off updating the map again) its tectonic instability has caused a small landmass to appear off the North of Caledon.

Caledon Perenelle is the newest sim to join the ranks of our beloved nation taking us to a total of 45 sims. Caledon Cavendish remains the most northerly spot of Caledon but land reclamation in Perenelle may change that.

The Mysterious Island
There are many islands littering the seas that hold strange and dangerous perils for explorers and travellers alike. From the dangerous beasts of Skull Island, the dangerous master of Vulcania or the rumours stories of the island of R'lyeh it seems even Caledon has it's own perils.
Many remember the disaster of the Saint Kitt Islands but the newly discovered Mondserrat may prove more sinister still.

Stranded after your submersible becomes defective, visitors to Mondserrat are already starting from behind.

When you realise you are the most recent in a history of shipwreck survivors.

Strange iconography abounds on the island.

You soon discover that even going in heavily armed does not mean the odds are even.

Because you could get attacked by killer bees

Or exploding teddy bears

Or aliens

Or n00b zombies ("Grr Argh!")

Or prize chairs

And that's all without one of your fellow explorers PUSHING THE BUTTON!

Though it seems to involve the eternal battle for our hearts and souls between Basement Cat

And Ceiling Cat
Can you haz cheezburger?
A list of collectable items has been compiled here for those wishing to explore the islands fully.

A new member of the Realm of the Roses
Off the East Coast of Caledon Dundee a new sim has appeared.

Zeppelinheim is the newest member of the Realm of the Roses and contains many members of the former island of Brythony.
Welcome and tea all round!

New sim for Steelhead
This week saw the arrival of Steelhead's 4th sim, Steelhead Port Harbor. Unsurprisingly this will sit to the west of Steelhead Harbor

They've also been named as sim of the month for this issue of the Primgraph. Christine's hard work decorating the inside of Rosehaven has resulted in a double page photo spread.
And I don't think the Primgraph mentioned Floppy Dong once.

Pimping Steelhead
Steelhead Port Harbor is taking prebookings for interested residents.
From the brochure:
Live in Steelhead Port Harbor!
Industrial Steampunk themed sim based on Monterray California 1890's. Drawbridge, working railroad, and beautifully crafted concept builds of the fantasy theme of steampunk will surround you.
Port Harbor is an industrial sim, so railroad and factories with smokestacks will be present.
Many waterfront residential lots are available. Boats are very welcome talk to Lunar to rent a water lot for your vessel, airships are also very welcome over either water or land lots.
The commercial zoned areas are in red on the map are built over an intricate gallery pier (no civic prims count against your lot primcount). We do not have telehubs in Steelhead, so direct teleport is welcome. If you wish to live above your storefront please feel free to do so. Read covenant agreement to find out all rules of the sims.
Tall industrial buildings are encouraged here in Port Harbor, large vessels are encouraged. We can accommodate you, please ask if you have specific needs.
IM TotalLunar Eclipse for rental information. Commercial and Residential lots available. But hurry, these lots may be rented fast.

Another surprise sim
Congratulations to Their Graces Cornelia Rothschild and Karsten Rutledge on the opening of the Duchy of Caledon Teslace.
The Guvnah keeps sneaking in new sims it seems.

Caledon Teslace, west of the coast of Kittiwickshire and now officially the most western point of Caledon (until Atlantis changes it's name).

Caledon Cavendish
Newest and penultimate sim for the Independent State of Caledon arrived yesterday with limited fanfare it seems.
A split void, the Marquesates of Cavendish (though I don't know whether they're East/West or what yet)
The back yard off Argylle is getting awfully crowded.

Congratulations to the Marchionesses Edwina Heron and Elizabeth Morgenrote

Caledon welcomes four new sims
The Caledon Tectonic Guild have been hard at work again after their recent break. Thankfully the seismic shocks didn't damage my little undersea settlement.
Firstly, the only only one of the four new sims that had been officially announced. Though our dear Guv is known for sending out comment on group chat when others of us are asleep or something.

Caledon Windemere, finishing up the southern aspects of Caledon.
Then there was the first of the "Surprise Sims", my new neighbour: Caledon Dundee.

Caledon Oxbridge, an extension of Nova Civis Caledon and home to the University of Caledon Oxbridge. The Harry Potter RPers should be arriving any day now.

And lastly Caledon Westmoreland, linking the nation of Caledon to Brightfield.
This one will be dubbed something to do with teeth as soon as I have time to sit down and think of something appropriate.

Caledon Southend

Most recent arrival of the Caledon sims, Caledon Southend, looks to be something of a beach resort type town. LittleBlackDuck Lindsay's buildings are wonderfully rendered as always but the in-progress construction of the Ferris Wheel is intriguing.
The "Caledon Eye" I wonder?
Time to update the map again...

Still warm sim already attacked by buildings
In a frenzy of sims the latest sim to become part of the Independent State of Caledon is the Duchy of Argylle.

And the new Duke is yours truly.
The Duchess and myself look forward to seeing you for the housewarming!

Steelhead starts with a Boom(town)

Steelhead Boomtown, now officially baptised with the orbiting of Keenly.

Also untouched by human hands...
New sim growth abounds as Steelhead's third sim arrives!

Steelhead Boomtown! I'm sure the name is pure coincidence and not named after one of Tensai's experiments
Now we have a little back yard for Rosehaven where my wife can grow her plants and keep chickens. If I'm really lucky the chicken noises won't carry across the sim border.

Pristine and (mostly) untouched by human hands
Caledon's newest sim arrived yesterday, nestling to the south of Tamrannock.

Caledon Downs will soon be bustling with builders, contractors, aborists and road crews, but for now it sits awaiting fate.
Time for me to update the map soon :-)

Welcome to Caledon Glengarry
With a name changed from CaerClannagh to Glengarry, Caledon's newest sim squeezes in between Caledon II and Kintyre.
A big HOO! to the new sim.

Des is on a roll!
It seems our Beloved Guvnah is on a roll to get himself sorted for before the New Year.
It was only this week that I managed to snap a picture of the newly terraformed Caledon Brigadoon when I here over the aether that yet another sim was being landed as we spoke!

Caledon Bridagoon, now divested of ice, but awaiting snow cover.

Caledon Cape Wrath. Winterfell and Caledon are now linked.
Myself and over a dozen spectators watched as the sea was parted and the earth was given form, before a mad dash ensued to be first across the new sim.
We're now now officially linked to Winterfell. Just mind their security devices when you dash across. Some of the Absinthe residents are a little zealous in their deployment of security orbs.
Caledon now stands at 33 sims with more than 2,160,000 square metres of virtual real estate. That's almost a square mile (and you wonder why it takes so long to get around Caledon now).

Another one?
Yes ladies and gentlemen it's that time of the month again. Or at least it seems that Caledon is getting a new sim each month.
Morgaine landed on the weekend with the linkup between Penzance and Wellsian now complete.

The floating island hovers over the Strait of Morgaine due to high deposits of Cavorite.

With Morgaine, Caledon reaches its 2 millionth square metre of virtual land. It was only 7 months ago when we reached the 1 millionth with the arrival of Steam Sky City
I've updated my main map accordingly, though I need to finish the update for the Navigational Hazards Map.

Four new Duchies for Caledon
The next four sims for Caledon have arrived.

The Duchy of Cymru, for His Grace Viderian Vollmar

The Duchy of Greystoke, for His Grace Gnarlihotep Abel

The Duchy of Nova Civis Caledon, which I believe will be without a peer.

The Duchy of Kintyre, for her Grace Lavendar Beaumont (with Major Margulis acting as Regent)
According to our dear Guvnah, the collective name for this southernmost landmass is Sculptie Isle
