Exploring Venexia

Venexia is a vampiric Venice in a world where vampires are the ruling class and humans are intelligent cows. The Venexia Skyline St. Mark's Basilica, Venexia The Basilica interior. Island of the Elders The Slaughtered Lamb. (American backpackers beware) Chapel interior of the Nosferati The canals. My first thought when I was told about a "Vampires in Venice" sim was that someone had taken the idea from the Doctor Who episode "The Vampires of Venice". So far no underwater aliens lurking in the canals but you never know.

 I went to Venexia to look at the architecture and was surprised to discover two of my friends were residents there. I was given a tour and the couple of other residents we encountered were very polite. If I'd seen this 15 years ago I would have been there in a flash. Now I'm not sure vampire RP is my thing.

It is an amazing build though, and the rather maze-like layout would take a short while to come to terms with. They're happy for visitors to come by, just make sure you wear a visitor tag.

New Babbage Pub Crawl!

21 bars and restaurants have hidden 21 bottles for you to find. Start your search at the Lotus of the Sea Gallery, and off you go on a walking tour of New Babbage like no other. All you have to do is touch the bottle, it will give you a prize and tell you how to get to your next stop in local chat.

Doctor Who Expo Podshock Party

Once again the boys from Podshock are bringing their virtual get together into Second Life.

Colossal AVs

I didn't get much of a chance to visit Fantasy Faire so most of what I saw came via other people's blogs. My friend Emilly posted this picture on her entry which really blew me away.

The AV was made by Ceri Quixote using the Mesh system. She'll be releasing a slightly downsized version of the AV next month.

I'm looking forward to seeing what can be done with the Colossus sized AVs. Giant Killer Robots anyone?

Washtown passes from the 'Verse

While I was never a regular of any of the Browncoats RP sims, I did drop by from time to time and see what was being built. Sad news has reached me of the reactor explosion which means Washtown is now uninhabitable.



It's always sad to see a long standing sim close, but as has been often said, RP sims are often the most vulnerable.

Nemo's Treasure Hunt

Long time SL building legend Aley Arai/Arcadia Asylum has created a Nemo inspired underwater treasure hunt. As Arcadia she is best known for her collection of Hobo related freebies. As Aley she's best known for the mindblowingly awesome Privateer Space Sim.
Her underwater sim contains 20 treasure chests which give out random freebies from the build. The chests reset every 4 hours and there's well over 20 different gifties. As is usual with her stuff, all of the freebies are full perm so you can incorporate bits into your own builds if you want.
