Walpurgisnacht Celebrations
Join Edward Pearse and Radio Riel at the Consulate of Europa Head Quarters in Kittiwickshire for an evening of dance and revelry as House Wulfenbach celebrates Walpurgisnacht.
In Germany Walpurgisnacht is an old Pagan celebration of Spring Eve, in much the same way as Samhain or Hallowe'en is the the precursor to Autumn and the heralding of Winter.
Goethe's Faust makes reference to the witches celebrating Walpurgisnacht atop Brocken Mountain and Disney's Fantasia famously depicts a version of Walpurgisnacht in the Night on Bald Mountain scene.
Thursday April 30th from 9 till midnight SLT.

Babbage & Lovelace superheroes!
I had a friend send me this link to a webcomic called 2D Goggles.
It looks like it's only new but it's already made me laugh. I hope he continues with this on some sort of regular basis.

ANZAC Day
Since 1927 ANZAC Day has been Australia's official military remembrance day. But much like Armistice Day came to be a remembrance for all wars, ANZAC Day remembers the fallen in all wars. As the 100th anniversary fast approaches the conflicts in France as slowly getting the recognition they deserve.
Lest We Forget.

St. George Waistcoat
Since there are some people south of the Scottish border who take pride in not being part of the best country in the world, I have taken pity on them and created a very snazzy waistcoat.
Available from New Babbage, Edison and Caledon Victoria City. I think I may need to reorganise my wall space in Steelhead and Steeltopia to fit these in.
Unlike most of my items the waistcoats are transferable. Buy them as a gift and one for yourself!

Fighting City Hall
For New Babbagers the idea of bringing down City Hall took on a very literal meaning on Saturday night when the glorious glass and steel structure collapsed in a shower of dust and debris.
Mid-collapse
Surveying the rubble
More damage
Building destruction, like explosions, always draws a crowd.
I hope my insurance company doesn't hike it premium for New Babbage. Many buildings seem to be rather unstable there of late.

Sailing, Sailing, Over the Bounding Waves...
For some time the idea of a Navy Uniform has been on my "to do" list. With the various Steam Nations gearing themselves up for a reinvigorated Navy and a commission from Caledon's Guvnah I have finally put forth some items for use of sailing enthusiasts.
The Gentlemen's Officer uniform
And a version for the Ladies.
For those who are more inclined for action of the guns or the engine room, there is a uniform for Sailors.
These are similar to the ones commissioned for the Imperial Navy of Caledon but with different rank insignia and cap badges.

Jack the Ripper may have come to Melbourne
Melbourne newspaper The Age reports that local biomedical scientist Geoff Crawford is currently hunting the bones of an ex-pat Londoner named Frederick Deeming, executed in Old Melbourne Gaol in 1892 for the murder of his wife, because he believes DNA evidence will show that Deeming was the Jack the Ripper. Unsuccessfully defended for his Australian crimes by Alfred Deakin (later to become Australia’s second Prime Minister) the serial killer Deeming was originally a suspect in the Ripper murders but was dismissed. Recently he has been re-implicated. Melbourne already has its fair share of macabre history and the infamy of the resting place of Jack the Ripper may be an interesting addition should the theory turn out to be true.

When Air Kraken attack!
Yes this could be one of those sordid Reality Kinoscopes, but no!
High above Lovelace, lurking in the cloudbank is a colony of Air Kraken just waiting to trap the unwary pilot.
With the Parsival at the bottom of the screen.
When they attack they spray horrible ink everywhere.
Best way to deal with the buggers is take them on! Sadly even the old Vickers didn't seem to make much of an impact.
Just be careful when flying in the southern climes.

In the Navy...
Most of the steampunk sims date themselves to the late 19th century, yet the naval power seems to rely on crusty old pirate ships or surplus from the American rumpus.
Finally some modern weaponry!
And with torpedoes!

The Evolution of Technology
German company Saturn goes through a somewhat interesting view of the evolution of technology. Why is this important? Because of the STEAM POWERED TYRANNOSAURUS REX!

Tea Party to a T
Miss Terry Lightfoot has been one of Caledon's well known clothing designers for some time now and when she had a chance to open her new shop in Caledon a big party was called for.
Roses, cards, tea pots, flamingos, hedgehogs, and rabbits. Didn't see any little blonde girls in blue pinafores. Must have scared her off.
Yours truly being very cute and ickle dressed as a Page of Hearts.
Rabbits, pixies, and other assorted revellers.
And Time Lords with detachable tails
Even though I was only able to get on for the last hour it was a fun party none the less.

Sunndale SL
Some time ago I remember being told that there was a Sunnydale sim on the grid. Having been a long time fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer I finally managed to find time to have a look. My reaction is... mixed.
Sunnydale High School - hangout to insect teachers, werewolves, witches and the occasional vampire.
Including its (in)famous School Library.
Under the school are some sewer tunnels and a nice large room with a pentacle on it.
1630 Revello Drive
The Bronze
The sim suffers from a small problem though. The school building is restricted to group access only. The teleporter with the red dots under the Welcome Centre sign is just inside the restricted zone, rendering it unusable to non-members. Additionally flying has been turned off for nearly all of the sim. Thankfully I found a spot where it wasn't turned off allowing me to reach some of the other builds.
Wolfram & Hart
Spike's crypt
The upper levels of the sim house things like Angel's Mansion, the Factory, some warehouses, as well as Willy's Place and a cemetery. None of which you can see unless you manage to find a way to fly up.
Overall, the sim is good, though it could still be improved with some some trees and grass here and there. I don't know how long the sim has been going but I had expected something a little more than this.
